It’s true, my basket of unfinished projects (make that ‘baskets’) is every bit as large as the typical knitter. I’ve decided, though, to clear out at least a few of them. Think of it as early spring cleaning. There’s the 2 Malabrigo sweaters (one apple green, one greens and purples), two sweaters I need to seam, two other sweaters I need to photograph, and two more currently sitting on my fireplace mantel. One’s missing sleeves (though it’s a raglan, so really, 1/3 of the sleeves are done already!), and the other has sleeves but is getting some work done on the edges and steeks, plus a hood. If I can get through all of these by the end of March, I am going to fee VERY productive! What’s the longest-lived project you have sitting at the bottom of your knitting basket?
(I would have put a photo here of all the unfinished projects, but the thought of doing that made me cry a little bit!)

My oldest project is about 5 (possibly more) years old.
It is a kit to knit a Winnie The Pooh that my mum brought me one Christmas.
I have been working on it for the past couple of weeks as my WIP’s have been getting a little out of hand. I’m determined to finish them all before I cast anything else on!

A very dreary kitchen towel. Knit with tiny needles. I really don´t know why I started that.

A cotton top from the Stitch n Bitch book. I started out with the wrong yarn, the wrong needle size, utterly wrong gauge… it was one of my very first projects, and although I had read about gauge I thought somehow it didn’t apply to me! It is a gigantic monstrosity, and I don’t even like the colour anymore. One day I will frog it and dye it and make something nice…

Just reading the blog, my WIP is crochet and it’s a cardi started about 5 years ago and another one supposedly to wear on a trip to Rome in Oct 2007, worked as far as the armholes and a prayer scarf just started beginning of Feb this year.
